All these neighbourhoods mixted here are influences: so you can find some (provencal) lavender fields beyond big Walnuttrees (from Grenoble – the olives grow 50 km more in the south). Vercheny is situated at 350 m, but the top of the Glandasse is over 2000 m high.
As lot of transition countries, the Diois is not very well-known and good identified. With about 1200 inhabitants on 1500 km² it is sparsely populated. The ten (independant) boroughs of the Roanne valley count between 144 inhabitants in St. Nazaire le Désert and 1 inhabitant (the mayor !) in Rochfourchat.
This means that there is certainly a lot of place to hike, but equipement and facilities can be quite far away.

www.diois-tourisme.com[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_height_percent=”0″ override_padding=”yes” h_padding=”2″ top_padding=”0″ bottom_padding=”4″ overlay_alpha=”50″ gutter_size=”3″ column_width_percent=”100″ shift_y=”0″ z_index=”0″][vc_column column_width_use_pixel=”yes” gutter_size=”3″ overlay_alpha=”50″ shift_x=”0″ shift_y=”0″ shift_y_down=”0″ z_index=”0″ medium_width=”0″ mobile_width=”0″ width=”1/1″ column_width_pixel=”800″][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner column_width_percent=”100″ align_horizontal=”align_center” gutter_size=”2″ overlay_alpha=”50″ shift_x=”0″ shift_y=”0″ shift_y_down=”0″ z_index=”0″ medium_width=”0″ mobile_width=”0″ width=”1/1″][vc_separator sep_color=”,Default” el_width=”50%”][vc_custom_heading heading_semantic=”h1″ text_size=”h1″ text_weight=”300″]In the west: The Drôme and Rhône Valleys[/vc_custom_heading][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text text_lead=”yes”]Down from Saillans, the Drôme valley gets larger and joins the Rhône Valley: Fruit plantations, Wineyards… and big traffic arteries and industrial areas.
